Registration for Life Science Innovation

With ‘Trends in Single Cell Analysis #4’ the University Hospital Düsseldorf, LifeScienceNet Düsseldorf and Life Science Center Düsseldorf will continue the event format ‘Life Science Innovation’, which provides insights into innovative research topics and current developments in Düsseldorf, NRW and beyond.

In this webinar we would like to ‘look over the edge’. Until now, our topics focused on circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and their identification, isolation and analysis, both on molecular and functional levels. This time, we invited speakers, who either investigate tumor cells in other body fluids than the blood or analyse other tumor cell derived components in the blood.

André Koch will give insights in how he is cultivating tumor cells from pleural effusions or ascites in 2D- and 3D formats in order to test the efficacy of known drugs or to test compound libraries in a personalized fashion. Basant Kumar Thakur will discuss the feasibility of using DNA obtained from extracellular vesicles (EVs) as a biomarker when performing a liquid biopsy (LB). Last, but not least, Anna Babayan will present latest innovations and applications for LB research.
